I worked closely with Milan at TimeTac and can say he's one of the strongest backend engineers I've encountered.
Milan built TimeTac Connect, our event-driven ETL framework that became the backbone for all our enterprise integrations. The architecture was solid with modular components that we could actually reuse. He integrated everything from Active Directory and Azure to SAP and Okta. These integrations weren't just technical wins, they directly enabled sales to close major deals and brought in thousands of licenses.
What I really appreciated was how Milan thought about the operational side. He automated our payment workflows and built an OpenAPI generator that outputs 30k+ lines per release with proper validation. That alone saved us hundreds of hours every month. His integrations had transparent retry logic, proper monitoring, and logging that made debugging actually manageable. Our support team noticed the difference immediately.
Milan also built out our integration team. He interviewed candidates, set up proper onboarding, and mentored junior engineers. One of the developers he mentored got promoted to team lead, which says a lot about his ability to grow people. He worked well with pre-sales and customers too, adapting technical solutions to fit real enterprise workflows.
Milan's the kind of engineer who delivers impact while making the codebase better and the team stronger. I'd work with him again without hesitation.
